Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai says President Muhammadu Buhari is still monitoring the pulse of Nigerians regarding the 2019 general elections but insisted that no politician in the country can defeat him in an election. He also posited that the President is ready to give up power for Nigeria to move forward.

The Federal Government may have dumped its recent decision to establish cattle colonies across the country as part of efforts to end the incessant clashes involving herdsmen and farmers. The decision was contained in recommendations made by the 10-man working committee constituted by the National Economic Council to end attacks by herdsmen.

The Chief Technical Adviser to the Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Bolade Eyinla stated this on Monday in Abuja at a retreat organized by the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru.

Former Governor of Kano state, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has shelved his planned visit to Kano following pressure from stakeholders and well-meaning Nigerians. The former Secretary of the State Government, Rabiu Suleiman Bichi who made this known at a press briefing held at Lugard Hall, the headquarters of Kwankwasiyya Movement in Kano said based on pressure from well-meaning Nigerians, the visit has been suspended indefinitely.

Members of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) have vowed to resist plans by the Federal Government to establish cattle colonies across the country for the purpose of addressing incessant herdsmen and farmers' clashes. The group said it would also resist the anti-open grazing law passed by some state governments.
