Court Adjourns Naira Marley's Trial To Thursday


A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday adjourned until Thursday, the continuation of trial of a musician, Azeez Fashola (a.k.a. Naira Marley), who is facing fraud and theft charges.

The Lagos State Film and Videos Censors Board (LSFVCB) has on Tuesday apprehended 30 sellers of pirated films in a clampdown in Lagos. Mr. Dele Balogun, the Executive Secretary of the board made this known in a statement saying the arrest was in collaboration with security agencies, after a week-long raid on pirated film outlets across eight local government areas in the state.

Nigerian literary giant, Chinua Achebe’s novel “Things Fall Apart” has been ranked top 5 of BBC’s The 100 Stories that Shaped the World. According to BBC culture, a poll was conducted with about 108 authors, critics, academics, journalists and translators across 35 countries to nominate five fictional stories that have influenced history.
