A group of Niger Delta ex-militants on Tuesday staged a protest at the Delta state axis of the East-West road, seeking for the removal of the Special Adviser to the President on Amnesty, Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh (rtd). The ex-militants who blocked the road, obstructing free vehicular movement were seen displaying placards and fliers with the inscription "Boroh Must Go".

The Ohaneze Youth Council (OYC) on Monday warned the leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazurike to vacate Igbo land immediately or risked being apprehended, stripped and flogged. The Council which declared Uwazurike persona-non-grata disclosed that their move was informed by a recent statement credited to him where he described Ndigbo as foolish and unwise.

Benue Killings: Ortom Asks IGP To Resign

Benue State governor, Samuel, says Ibrahim Idris, Inspector-General of Police (IGP), should resign if he cannot put a stop to the killings in his state.

Ortom said this in while reacting to comment of the IGP on the high level of insecurity in Benue.

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Monday explained the reason why he visited Kano, debunking claims that his visited was politically motivated. The Vice President in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande disclosed that he visited the state in order to attend the wedding of his Personal Assistant, Hafiz Kawu, stressing that claims that he met with some political groups during the visit were untrue.

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu on Monday appeared before the House of Representative Committee on Financial Crimes. Magu is addressing the Committee on loots recovered by the Commission in 2017. The Committee is headed by Hon. Kayode Oladele, from Ogun state.

2019: Babangida Writes Own ‘Letter’, Asks For “New Generation Leaders”

Former military president Ibrahim Babangida has asked Nigerians to co-operate with President Muhammadu Buhari until his tenure ends — but vote for a new generation of leaders in 2019.

In a press statement released on Sunday by Kassim Afegbua, his spokesman, Babangida said it was time to sacrifice “personal ambition” for the “national interest”.
