Following the controversial resignation of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Tanko Mohammed, The Senate has insisted that the committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matter will go ahead with its probe to arrive at a logical conclusion concerning the petition against him by the Supreme Court Justices The Red Chamber also tasked the committee to liaise with the three arms of government as well as the Bar and the bench to collect as much position on both the short and long-term measures needed to address once and for all the problems facing the judiciary.

Lucky Irabor, has faulted the directive of the Zamfara state governor urging his state residents to arm themselves for self-defence in the wake of banditry. Following the unabated banditry activities that have engulfed the state, the Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawale had yesterday urged Zamfara state residents to procure or acquire arms for self-defence against the bandits. Similarly, the Governor also directed the state Commissioner of police to facilitate the acquisition of the arms by residents through the prompt issuance of a licence to those who indicate interest and are qualified to bear the arms.

Late Gospel Singer Osinachi Finally Laid To Rest

The remains of late Ekwueme singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu have been laid to rest in Abia State. Osinachi’s body was buried in her hometown, Isochi Umunneochi in Abia State. The burial was attended by her twin sister, siblings, parents, children, pastors from Dunamis church, and fans. The majority of the burial rites were carried out in Abuja. Before the final internment, a night of worship was held in Abuja on Thursday.

The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) has revealed via its spokesperson, Hauwa Mohammed, in a statement on 19th June 2022 that the board had conducted a competency test for over thirty thousand (30,000) teachers in December 2021, and out of the total number, two thousand one hundred and ninety-two (2,192) primary school teachers has been relieved from their work including the National President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Audu Amba for refusal to sit for the test.

2022 SSCE Registration: NECO Extends Deadline

Owo Attack: Governor Akeredolu Orders Installation Of CCTV In Public Places

Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has signed an Executive Order for the compulsory installation and use of Close Circuit Television (CCTV) devices in all public and private institutions in the state. A statement issued yesterday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Richard Olatunde, revealed that the order became imperative in the light of the increased spate of insecurity in the country owing to the state of insecurity and the need to ensure safety of lives and property in all public and private institutions and centres throughout the state.

Supreme Court Approves Use Of Hijab In Lagos Schools

Recall the Lagos State Government has banned the use of hijab in schools stating that it was not part of the approved school uniforms for students, in respect to the ban, the Muslim students took it up on themselves to file a suit. FG Declares May 2nd, 3rd Public Holidays
