The Nigerian Senate on wednesday adopted the amended electoral Act that altered the sequence of the 2019 general elections. The Senate took the decision, after it considered the recommendations of a conference committee report on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Act. Recall that the House of Representatives had earlier changed the order of elections by amending the electoral act.

Senator Shehu Sani has again taken a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari over his policy on the fight against corruption, which he described as selective and one sided. The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly stated this in a series of tweets on his Twitter handle. He claimed that the current administration was declaring war on individuals criticizing its policies in the guise of fighting corruption.

Nigeria’s satellite, NIGCOMSAT 1-R will be deployed for live coverage and transmission of results of the 2019 general elections, the Nigeria Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd has said. The managing director of Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT), Abimbola Alale disclosed that Nigeria's satellite, NIGCOMSAT 1-R will be deployed for live coverage and transmission of results of the 2019 general elections.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja held a closed-door meeting with the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bole Tinubu and the former Interim National Chairman of the Party, Chief Bisi Akande. Tinubu and Akande who arrived at the Villa at about 3:30 pm refused to address State House Correspondents. Tinubu merely said, "when I come back".

Former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, appears to be tired of fighting the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in court and has asked for an out-of-court settlement. In a January 30, 2018 letter, titled “Proposal for out-of-Court Settlement of all cases related to Dame (Mrs.) Ibifaka Patience Jonathan,” Mr. Jonathan told the EFCC of her intention to settle the matter, the News Agency of Nigeria reported Tuesday.
