President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday summoned and queried the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris over disobedience to his directive to relocate to Benue state in the awake of New Year attack that claimed over seventy lives. The presidency in a series of tweets posted yesterday stated that the IGP was directed to provide comprehensive report on police operations in the affected states, after which further actions would be taken.

Former Vice President, Atiku Buhari has commended United States Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson for his visit to Nigeria. Atiku who took to his twitter handle to welcome Tillerson called on the United States to strengthen existing relationship with Nigeria in order to combat terrorism in the country. His tweets read

Organized labour on Sunday warned that irrespective of several challenges facing the country, it would resist any illegal and undemocratic takeover of government in Nigeria. The President of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN, Comrade Bobboi Bala Kaigama, and the Secretary-General, Comrade Alade Bashir Lawal in a statement jointly issued in Lagos said the truncation of the current democratic practice would drag the country 50 years backward.
