Former Vice President, Atiku Buhari has commended United States Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson for his visit to Nigeria. Atiku who took to his twitter handle to welcome Tillerson called on the United States to strengthen existing relationship with Nigeria in order to combat terrorism in the country. His tweets read
“I welcome US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to Nigeria. Our people share the same values of free trade, education, democracy and security for all.
“Nigerians deserve a more secure future. Nigeria and the US must do more to combat extremism and terror. Our partnership with the US should be built on more cooperation.
“It is good to see US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Nigeria”
Recall that Tillerson was received by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Monday. Both leaders reportedly discussed issues including the 2019 general elections and the recent abduction of Dapchi schoolgirls.
Tillers while addressing State House Correspondents assured that the US would assist Nigeria with special security training, latest security equipment and the intelligence required combating terrorism.
