Some yet-to-be identified thugs on Friday invaded the Abia State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), carting away valuables including cash, electronics and other items. The state chairman of the party, Hon. Donatus Nwamkpa, who addressed newsmen accused Chief Ikechi Emenike and Dr. Emmanuel Ndukwe, of being responsible for the attack.

The Nigerian Senate on Thursday confirmed that the Police has handed over the mace which was snatched from the floor of the Red chamber on Wednesday at plenary. The Deputy President of the Senate, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, who confirmed the development in his opening address at the plenary stressed that the Senate would insist on the arrest and prosecution of the suspects,

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha has said the continued violent clashes involving herdsmen and farmers across the country has led to the death of over two hundred and fifty seven people since 2018. The SGF stated this on Thursday at the opening ceremony of the Federal and States Security Administrators’ Meeting (FSSAM), Katsina.

The controversial bill seeking to reorder the election sequence earlier released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been suspended by the National Assembly, shortly after the invasion of the Senate by some hoodlums. Recall that the National Assembly had amended the electoral act, changing the sequence of the election.
