The Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha on Saturday said his administration will soon begin to demand the Permanent Voters’ Card from indigenes of the state as a condition to engage in certain socio-economic activities, such as salary payment and admission into schools, in order to ensure massive participation in electioneering activities in 2019.

The Nigerian Army is to launch “Operation Last Hold” in Borno North and Lake Chad Region to restore socio-economic acitivies in the areas, and to fast track return Of Internally Displaced Persons to their communities. The National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday in Abuja directed its National Working Committee to constitute a shadow cabinet to guide the party’s blueprint for economic recovery and good governance. This was one of the decisions reached by the party at its NEC meeting, which was held at its national secretariat, according to a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan.
