APC’s Muslim-Muslim Ticket, A “Disastrous Error” – Fmr. SGF Babachir

A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF and close ally of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Mr. BabachirLawal has described as a “disastrous error”, Tinubu’s resort to picking a fellow Muslim as his running mate. The former SGF said though Tinubu is a good man and a great listener, it is in the nature of power that sycophants and lapdogs have the most influence on leaders with such character traits. According to him, Tinubu has now been cornered by self-serving lapdogs and warned that the Muslim-Muslim ticket is dead on arrival.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu yesterday explained why he picked the former governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima, as his running mate for next year’s poll.
He said he was guided by the principles of competence, innovation, compassion, integrity, fairness, and adherence to excellence. According to Asiwaju, to re-envision and reshape the nation, he must set up the best team that would establish a just, capable and compassionate governance for Nigerians, irrespective of religion, region, or ethnic origin.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has rescheduled the proposed dates for the party’s primary elections. This was disclosed on Monday by the party in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) which stated that the party’s schedule of activities was adjusted due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
