The Presidency has said that President Muhammadu Buhari would transfer power to another democratically elected leader on May 29, 2023, regardless of the state of the nation. The Presidency’s reply was a result of recent comments by a senior lawyer, Chief Robert Clarke, in an Arise TV interview where he suggested that President Muhammadu Buhari remains in office for an extra six months to address insecurity.
