President Buhari Approves Appointment of 6 Permanent Secretaries

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday approved the appointment of 6 new permanent secretaries in the Federal Civil Service which was made known in a statement by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF). According to the statement, the new appointees include Mahmud Kambari from Borno State, Esuabana Asanye from Cross River State, Lamuwa Ibrahim from Gombe State, Yakubu Kofar-Mata from Kano State, Oloruntola Michael from Ogun State and Richard Pheelangwah from Taraba State.

The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu has reportedly stepped aside from his position, however, according to reports, the party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), Umar Damagum would be acting chairman until further notice. A High Court sitting in Markudi, Benue State on Monday, restrained Ayu from parading himself as the party’s chairman until the determination of the substantive suit which was adjourned to April 17, 2023, for hearing.

President Buhari Not Planning Interim Government-Presidency

The Presidency has said that President Muhammadu Buhari has no plan to install an interim government or extend his administration’s tenure beyond May 29, 2023, as required by the Constitution. Garba Shehu, President Buhari’s Spokesperson, made this known in a Twitter post from his official handle on Friday titled, ‘Stop the joke about interim government, elections will hold.’
