Contrary to the recent proscription and declaration of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organization by the Federal Government, the United States Government says it does not consider the organization a terrorist group. The Spokesman of the US Embassy in Nigeria, Russell Brooks made the position of the US known in a statement released to newsmen in Abuja.

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris wants the presidency to consider an annual recruitment of 31,000 personnel into the force for the next five years. This according to him, would lead to meeting the United Nation’s ratio of one policeman to 400 persons, saying the personnel of the force are overstretched as he pegged the ratio at 1-600. He disclosed this at the passing out parade of men and women who are now police personnel.

French Government has denied Federal Government's claim that it is funding Biafra agitation group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). He challenged the Nigerian Government to provide documentary evidence to support the claim that France is the financial headquarters of IPOB.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) workers say they will continue with their strike until the Federal Government appoints a substantive Director-General.Mr Ejor Michael, the National Public Relations Officer (PRO), Medical and Health Union of Nigeria, NAFDAC chapter, made this known on Saturday in Abuja in an interview with newsmen, according to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris on Friday warned new Police Constables against corrupt practices and other illegalities that could bring the Force to disrepute or terminate. The IGP gave the warning during the passing out ceremony of 854 constables from the Police College, Orji River, Enugu state.
