The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) Tuesday shared N558 billion to the three arms of government as revenue for the month of September 2017. According to the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, the gross statutory revenue of N423.961bn received for the month was lower than the N550.992bn received in the previous month by N127.023 billion.

The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has refuted insinuations that have been drawn in some Media that Nigeria is to extradite 1000 Turkish citizens. Some of the media reports credited to the Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, implied that 1000 Turkish nationals face extradition from Nigeria at the request of the Turkish Government.

A former spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, has asked a Federal High Court to allow former President Goodluck Jonathan appear in court as a witness in corruption trial. It is the second application by Mr. Metuh’s lead counsel, Onyeachi Ikpeazu, for witnesses to appear in court. The former spokesman is being tried for allegedly misusing N400 million public money.

The Senate has commenced investigation of the circumstances surrounding the return of embattled ex-Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina, and his reinstatement into the civil service and subsequent deployment to the Ministry of Interior as a director.

The Federal High Court in Abuja has awarded N10 million fine against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in favour of Alhaji Nasiru Dalhatu Bafarawa and his company Nasdal Baf Nig Ltd. The fine was imposed by the court on the anti graft agency as general damage for contravening its own law by freezing the shares, stocks and securities belonging to Nasdal Baf Nig Ltd without obtaining court order to back it up since 2008.

President Muhammadu Buhari said the Nigeria-Pakistan Joint Commission would be revamped as a veritable platform to strengthen economic and trade relations between both countries. President Buhari gave the assurance on Saturday in Istanbul at a bilateral meeting with the Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khakan Abbasi, on the sidelines of the ninth D-8 summit in Turkey.
