The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the concluded Anambra state Governorship election, Oseloka Obase has rejected the declaration of the Chief Willie Obiano of ALL Progressive Grand Alliance as winner of the poll. Obase in a statement made available to newsmen in Awka on Sunday said the result released by Independent National Electoral Commission is different from the figures obtained from the field.

The Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha is set to unveil 10 additional statues in the state, few weeks after the state organized massive ceremony to unveil the statues of the Presidents of South Africa and Liberia. The Governorship aspirant of Democratic People's Congress (DPC), Yul Edochie has debunked reports that he has stepped down from the governorship election and defected to the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). The son of veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie who stated this on Saturday morning appealed to his supporters to disregard the reports. He explained that the report may have been planted by the opposition to deceive his supporters knowing how popular he is in the state.
