The personal friend of the President and one of the founding fathers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says President Muhammadu Buhari will seek reelection in 2019 because it is within his right to do so. The former Minister of Information made the disclosure in an interview with the Sun. he maintained that the health issues that would have militated against the president has since been address stressing that the President was now more healthier than most APC stakeholders.

The presidency has denied a report alleging that 81 of President Muhammadu Buhari’s 100 appointees are northerners, describing it as divisive, mischievous and misleading. This is contained in a statement released on Saturday by Femi Adesina, media adviser to the president. It said the claim, published by a newspaper, Business Day was either an ignorant effort or a mischievous attempt to mislead the public and portray the Buhari administration in bad light.

Gbaramatu Kingdom's Spokesperson, Godspower Gbenekama has blamed the suspension of ceasefire agreement by members of Niger Delta Avengers on the failure of the Federal Government to fulfill most of the promises it made to people of the region.  Gbenekama made this known on Saturday in Asaba, after a closed door meeting with the Deputy Governor of Delta state, Kingsley Otuaro.

Former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida has concluded plans to offer free educations to Nigerians at all levels as part of efforts to commemorate his late wife, Maryam Babangida. The retired General made the disclosure on Saturday in his presentation at the Inaugural Annual Memorial Lecture in honour his late wife. Maryam Babangida died as a result of ovarian cancer in 2009 at a medical facility in California.

There was chaos and pandemonium as an explosion, suspected to have been caused by an improvised explosive device, rocked Enugu as voters were coming out to cast their votes in local council elections on Saturday. The incident occurred in the Coal Camp area of Enugu, by the entrance of a road that led to a polling station located at Broderick Primary School, Ogbete West Ward 6, Enugu North Local Government Area.
