The Ministry of Defence has conducted military pension verification exercise across the country with the aim of blocking all leakages in government expenditure. The Minister of Defence, Dan-Ali who inaugurated the exercise at the Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja stated that the exercise would assist the government in updating existing records as well as eliminate fake or dead pensioners from the records.

Former President, Goodlkuck Jonathan on Friday challenged the governor of Borno state, Ibrahim Shettima to come clean on the abduction of the Chibok Girls, after he was quoted recently as saying Jonathan thought he was behind the abduction. The former President made the call in a statement released to newsmen in Abuja by his Spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze.

The Governor of Cross River state, Prof. Ben Ayade on Thursday presented the 2018 appropriation bill to the State House of Assembly. Gov. Ayade who christened the budget `Budget of Kinetic Crystallization’ disclosed that the state proposed one trillion, three hundred and fifty billion, two hundred and twenty million, one hundred and fifty six thousand, two hundred and twenty five naira, thirty kobo (N1, 350, 220, 156, 225. 30).

The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS), Mohammed Babandede has debunked widespread reports that the embattled Chairman of the Presidential Task Funds on Pension Reform, Abdulrasheed Maina ttravelled out of the country after being declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC). Babandede stated this on Thursday when he appeared before a House of Representatives panel investigating the circumstances surrounding the reinstatement of Maina into the Civil Service.

Embattled former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Mr Abdulrasheed Maina, has finally broken silence on the allegations of corruption levelled against him. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Channels Television which aired on Monday, Mr Maina insisted that he was innocent of the allegations preferred against him.
