UK, Nigeria Signs New Migration Agreement

The governments of the United Kingdom (UK) and Nigeria have signed a new migration agreement that would increase the deportation of dangerous Nigerian criminals and illegal immigrants back to their country of origin. In a Twitter post, the UK Home Secretary, Priti Patel wrote, “Our new landmark agreement with Nigeria will increase the deportation of dangerous foreign criminals to make our streets and country safer”.

Mali Junta: Civilian Rule Will Return In 2024 - Col. Goita

Mali's military rulers have announced a restoration of civilian rule by 2024 four years after the double coups denounced by countries, the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) and other foreign powers. Junta leader Colonel Assimi Goita signed a decree read out on state television saying that "the duration of the transition is fixed at 24 months (from) March 26, 2022".

President Buhari Departs Abuja For AU Summit

President Muhammadu Buhari departed Abuja on Thursday to attend the African Union (AU) Extraordinary Session of Assembly of Heads of State and Government scheduled to hold in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea from 26th to 28th May 2022. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu which stated that the Summit has a special focus on security.
