The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has cleared Tobi Amusan of an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) and lifted the suspension placed on her last month for whereabouts failures. This was made known in a statement issued on Thursday by the World Athletics body which reads, “A panel of the Disciplinary Tribunal, by majority decision, has today found that Tobi Amusan has not committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) of 3 whereabouts failures within a 12-month period.”
However, the head of AIU, Brett Clothier, stated that the organization will review the reasoning in detail before deciding whether to exercise its right of appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) within the stipulated deadline.
With this development, experts suggests the 26 year old would be able to compete alongside other athletes for the 2023 World Athletics Championships scheduled to hold from 19 to 17 August, 2023 in Budapest, Hungary.
