A total of 38 athletes, coaches and officials representing the last batch of Team Nigeria for the XXI Commonwealth Games left Abuja for Gold Coast, Australia. Team Nigeria headed for the games aboard Emirates Airline at about 6 p.m from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Tayo Oreweme, Director of Federations and Elite Athletes Department (FEAD) at the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development, said the team was made up of 12 athletes and five officials from the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF).

 

Others are 10 officials of sports associations and the ministry. Oreweme said that Team Nigeria would surpass all expectations at the Games.

 

The XXI Commonwealth Games starts from April 4 to 15 2018 in Gold Coast Australia with 71 teams taking part.
