The National Industrial Court, Abuja, has ordered the striking Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE), to unblock the premises of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Abuja. In a ruling in Abuja on Wednesday, Justice Maureen Esowe held that the unblocking of the premises by the union would enable the applicant (CAC), take actions that would stop the strike.

The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday passed the Not Too Young to Run Bill, after thousands of youths besieged the National Assembly on Tuesday, following reports that national legislators were planning to perk the eligibility age to contest for the office of the President at 35 years.

Contrary to warnings from the Nigerian Police Force and the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday passed the Bill seeking the establishment of Nigerian Peace Corps as one of the Para-military agencies in the country.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday presided over the oath taking of two ministers, Alhaji Suleiman Hassan (Gombe)and Prof. Stephen Ocheni (Kogi), 2 months after their nominations were confirmed by the Senate. The swearing in took place inside the Council Chambers before the commencement of the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

The Senate has voted to alter the 1999 Constitution in order to strip the states of power to constitute electoral commissions to conduct local government elections.

The Presidency has debunked media reports that the President, Muhammadu Buhari would return to the country within two weeks.  The clarification is coming after the Governor of Imo state Rochas Okorocha announced that the President may return back to the country in two weeks to resume his official duties. Okorocha made the statement after leading some All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors and some party stakeholders to visit the President in London.
