There were indications in Abuja on Sunday that members of the sacked National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party loyal to its erstwhile National Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff, have decided to stay away from the party’s meetings slated for Monday and Tuesday.

The results of the 2017 Supplementary Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) which was conducted on July 1 have been released by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). According to Premiumtimes, an official of the Board who confirmed the release disclosed that a total number of 85, 000 candidates were given the opportunity to rewrite the supplementary examination due to problems associated with registration.

A bill to protect whistleblowers from persecution has passed first reading in the House of Representatives. The bill, which is in recognition of Article 33 of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption encourages State parties to develop legal frameworks for whistle-blowing and the protection of whistleblowers.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari, currently in London on medical vacation “is in high spirit and is doing very well and recuperating.”
