IPOB Withdraws Threat To Disrup Anambra Governorship Election

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB, has withdrawn the threat to disrupt the conduct of the governorship election in the State. According to Channel TV, the decision was reached after a meeting organised by a non-governmental organisation, the Ala-Igbo International Foundation.

Karu/Abuja Highway Traders To Be Relocated

The Nasarawa State Government said on Friday that it would move traders on Karu/Abuja express high way to Karu international market to reduce traffic congestion in the area and restore sanity. The state Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Alhaji Tanko Zubairu, disclosed this in Karu at a meeting with Traders and Marketers Association of Karu Local Government Area of the state.

Jealous Air Force Lover To Die By Hanging For Killing Female Colleague

A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel, Air Craft Man (ACM), Kalu Bernard Ayomide, has been convicted and sentenced to death by hanging for killing his lover, a female colleague at the Airforce base in Makurdi. The 22-year-old Ayomide was convicted based on charges of murder, house breaking, attempt to murder one Samuel Onah Echo, failure to perform military duties, disobedient to standing order and losing service property.

Gunmen Kill NSCDC Operative, 3 Others

Four people, including an operative of the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been killed by gunmen in Benin. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that the NSCDC operative, Mr Rawlings Osagie, was shot dead at his residence when he returned home from work late on Monday.

One Person Killed At The Inauguration Of APC Chairman

Reports claim one person has been killed in the fracas that almost marred the inauguration of the Acting Chairman of Bayelsa chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC). The inauguration of the Acting Chairman, Mr Joseph Fafi, took place in Yanegoa on Friday.

The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has sworn in nine newly appointed resident electoral commissioners. Mob Kills Soldier In Nasarawa State

Nasarawa state Police command has arrested two persons in connections with a mob action that led to the death of a soldier, Lance Cpl. Ayuba Ali, on Monday in Akwanga, Nasarawa state. The command’s spokesman, DSP Kennedy Idirisu, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lafia.
