A high court in Abuja has nullified the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) suspension of Buruji Kashamu, senator representing Ogun east, as illegal. In December, the party suspended Kashamu over alleged anti-party activities. But at the court on Tuesday, Valentine Ashi, the judge handling the matter, declared the suspension invalid.

President Muhammadu Buhari and the governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, on Tuesday, met at the State House, in Abuja.

This is the first time the two leaders will meet since the recent killings recorded in Benue State.

Security has been beefed up in Umuahia, Abia State, as President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osibanjo are expected to arrive on Tuesday for the mega rally of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress.

The rally, which will take place in the Umuahia Township stadium on School Road, is expected to have APC national chairman, Chief John Oyegun, the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Rochas Okorocha and other APC chieftains from the South East and across the country in attendance.

As at the time of filing this report, major entry and exit of the Abia was manned by heavily armed and stern-looking security operatives in preparation for the president’s visit.

Senator Stella Oduah has debunked media reports that she has perfected plans to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) or All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). Sen. Oduah who represents Anambra North Senatorial District in the Red Chamber told newsmen on Monday in Abuja that the report was fabricated by detractors with hidden agenda.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on security agencies to immediately launch a probe into the voluntary disclosure of the Managing Director, Nigeria National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC) Dr. Mikanti Baru, that 4,501 trucks of petroleum recently went missing.

The PDP, in a statement signed by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Prince Diran Odeyemi, copies of which were obtained by newsmen on Sunday noted, if trucks of petrol could suddenly develop wings and could not be traced in the ministry that is directly being supervised by

President Mohammadu Buhari, the signs are rather obvious that the plundering of the nation’s commonwealth in ministries, departments and parastatals are at unimaginable rate.

The party expressed shock over what it called “additional means of stealing to finance APC and President Buhari’s re-election next year in addition to the proposed N1billion daily funding of Boko Haram which the administration claimed have been technically defeated.”

Dr. Baru disclosed that the trucks laden with petrol could not be traced when he appeared before Senate Committee probing the scarcity of the product last week.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a swipe at the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun over his stance on the controversial Board appointment released by the Presidency last week, with the names of dead people included. In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP described Oyegun's case as a leader who has no answer for the 'incompetence and misrule' of his party.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied being fully involved in the selection process of President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent board appointments. National Chairman of the party, Mr John Oyegun, told reporters on Sunday in Abuja that the APC was involved in the early stage of the process but not consulted before the final list was released.
