Human righted lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), on Tuesday urged the Federal Government to disarm the herdsmen as a way of ending the incessant violent clashes between them and farmers in the country. Falana made the call in a statement titled: “How to end violent clashes between herdsmen and farmers.”

President Adama Barrow of the Gambia is currently on official visit to Nigeria and has met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa.

The Nigerian leader met with the visiting Gambia’s President behind closed doors on Tuesday.

Barrow who arrived the presidential villa at about 11.50 a.m., is visiting Nigeria for the first time since his inauguration as Gambian President on Jan. 19, 2017.

Senator Abaribe says members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress before and after the 2015 general elections would soon return to the PDP, having realized that they are at the wrong place. In a chat with Vanguard, the Senator explained that the defectors have now realized that the APC rode on lies and propaganda to snatch power from the PDP and has failed to deliver on its mandate after winning the elections.

The Federal Government has summoned the United States ambassador to Nigeria, Stuart Symington, over the derogatory remarks by President Donald Trump. Trump has referred to Haiti, Ecuador and African countries as ‘shithole’ countries, a statement that annoyed many concerned nations and generated serious criticisms from the African Union and others.

The Overseer of Latter Rain assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare on Sunday berated the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu over the perceived ineffective war against corruption in the country, despite being the focus of the current administration.
