President Muhammadu Buhari says it is wrong to attribute the killings in the country to clashes between Fulani and other tribes, as the conflict between farmers and herdsmen has a long history.

Speaking during an interview with Aliyu Mustapha of VOA in Washington D.C., he noted that those making such allegations know that the herdsmen only carry sticks.

The President, who said the killings have nothing to do with religious or ethnic clash, also condemned reports that Christians were being killed in Nigeria.

After seven years of stagnation, all public workers in Imo state, are to enjoy automatic promotion.

Governor Rochas Okorocha announced the approval of the promotion for all workers on Tuesday as part of his package for workers’ supportive role to his administration.

Okorocha gave the approval at the 2018 Workers’ Day celebration held at the Heroes Square, Owerri on Tuesday.

He said the automatic promotion was to make up for the non-promotion the workers have suffered for seven years.

A former Deputy-Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kingsley Moghalu, has said that Nigerians can collectively kick against corruption by disgracing those perceived to be sharing the nation’s treasury.

The presidential aspirant said this on Tuesday in his address on The Platform, a programme organised by The Covenant Christian Centre in Lagos.

“We can disgrace those who are the sharers of our national cake. Those who believe that they are the custodians of the limit of our possibilities, we can disgrace and send them into retirement which they have refused to go,” he said.

The joint body of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) has endorsed the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade for a second term in office.

For both congresses, it is a way of consolidating his achievements by ensuring workers receives their salaries in advance.

The (NLC), Comrade John Ushie, commended the Ayade-led administration for the ongoing projects embarked upon and those completed.

According to Comrade Ushie, in less than three years into his administration, Governor Ben Ayade has embarked on many developmental projects across the State which seemed impossible to achieve.

President Muhammadu Buhari, has for the first time, made a brief remark on former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s controversial letter and called it “abusive’’.

Buhari said he did not want a response to the letter which derided the government and urged Buhari not to seek a second term

“Even when the Minister of Information and Culture wanted to reply that abusive letter written by former President Olusegun Obasanjo I had wanted Lai not to reply to the letter, but I said I should allow him to highlight the achievements of our administration.’’

Obasanjo wrote a damning letter on 23 January to President Buhari and touted a Coalition for Nigeria Movement which has been launched in Abuja to topple the APC and Buhari from office.

Adamawa State Governor, Muhammadu Bindow, Monday, at the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders meeting in Yola, pleaded with party members to forgive him if he had erred against anyone.

“If I offended any of you here please forgive me. I didn’t do that deliberately,” Governor Muhammadu Bindow of Adamawa has told party chieftains.

Bindow urged stakeholders and other members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to forgive him, if he wronged them.
