The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, on Monday was granted bail by the Kaduna State Police Command on 'self-recognition' after he was invited to its headquarters in Kaduna State. The Senator who confirmed the invitation through his Twitter handle, Sani said the police invited him to the station at 10:45am on Monday.

He however failed to disclose the reasons he was invited to the police headquarters. The senator said he honoured the invitation with clear conscience.

“The Police invited me to appear today by 10:45am.I honored the invitation to the Police Headquarters in Kaduna by 10:45am, with clear conscience.

“I wrote my statements. I was granted ‘self bail’. I have left.”

Vigil360 gathered that earlier in the month, the Kaduna State Police Command had written the senator, through the Clerk of the National Assembly, asking him to appear at the command headquarters after identifying him as a person of interest in a murder case. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Austin Iwar, who wrote the letter, asked Sani to appear before the Police on April 30.
