The Chairman Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has assured Nigerians that their votes would count in 2019 general election, Dailytrust reports. He gave the assurance on Thursday at youth votes count campus outreach programme organised by the commission in conjunction with European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES) and YIAGA Africa at UniAbuja campus.

Anenih, Secondus, Dokpesi, PDP bigwigs Named In Fresh 32-Count Charge Against Dasuki

The Federal Government has filed a fresh 32-count charge against Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser (NSA), who is being tried for alleged diversion of $2.1 billion arms funds.

The charges were filed before the FCT high court on Wednesday, almost three years after the government first arraigned Dasuki on an 18-count charge.

Bigwigs in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are listed as defendants in the amended charges. They include Uche Secondus, the party’s national chairman; Tony Anenih, former chairman of its board of trustees; Olisah Metuh, the party’s former spokesman; and Raymond Dokpesi, founder, DAAR Communications.

Dino Melaye Arrives Kogi In Ambulance, Appears In Court

The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, Thursday morning, arrived Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

Melaye was conveyed in an ambulance by the police authorities and has appeared before a Magistrates Court in the state.

The Senator was earlier taken to the office of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in the north-central state, was guarded by armed policemen.

According to the police, Melaye is being arraigned for an alleged criminal conspiracy, causing damage to government property, attempted suicide and escape from lawful custody.

Imo APC Dying Under Okorocha – Stakeholders Tell NWC

Imo All Progressives Congress Stakeholders Forum has pleaded with the party´s National Working Committee (NWC) to intervene in the crisis currently rocking its ranks.

Mr Oke Ikoro, the Chairman of the forum, made the plea on Wednesday in Abuja when a delegation of the forum visited the NWC.

According to him, APC in Imo has been appropriated by Gov. Rochas Okorocha who “has completely privatised the party” through his activities.

Ikoro said there was so much anger, acrimony and bitterness among party members.

Dino Melaye Remanded, Denied Bail

The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, has been denied bail in the case of an alleged conspiracy and aiding of jailbreak.

The Senator who arrived in Lokoja, Kogi State on Thursday morning appeared before the Magistrate court on a stretcher amidst heavy security.

As the case commenced, the prosecution council Alex Isihon, stated that the court did not have the jurisdiction to entertain the case.

Ekiti APC Says Gov. Fayose Is Frustrated, Jittery

The All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Ekiti has cautioned Governor Ayo Fayose to mind his business and declared that the governor’s meddlesomeness was a sign that he has become frustrated and jittery.

The party reacted Wednesday night to claims by Fayose that some of its aspirants planned to monetise Saturday’s gubernatorial primary.

The party described Fayose’s claim as meddlesomeness and described it as a figment of his imagination.
