American coach Randy Waldrum has turned down the offer to coach the country's senior women's national team from the Nigeria Football Federation. The NFF had named the former Trinidad and Tobago gaffer as the technical adviser for the Super Falcons in October after his application for the job, and subsequent recommendation by the NFF technical committee, though subject to further negotiations.

Championship side Bristol City dumped holders Manchester United of the League Cup on Wednesday night, scoring with seconds remaining on the clock to set up a semi-final meeting with Manchester City. United, second in the Premier League, made 10 changes from their weekend victory against West Brom but still boasted a star-studded team including a fearsome front three of Marcus Rashford, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Anthony Martial against the second-division high-flyers.

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) director of sports, Antero Henrique has condemned perceived attempts by Real Madrid to unsettle the club's big-money transfer, Neymar by publicly announcing that they would love to sign the Brazilian from PSG. Los Blancos president Florentino Perez had spoken very highly of Neymar and Mbappe in recent times, stressing that the club would make a move to secure Neymar.

Barcelona forward, Luiz Suarez says although winning the Sunday Clasico would provide the needed title boost, there are other challenges facing the club. The Uruguayan forward who has ended his goal drought netted twice at the Camp Nou in time to visit the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. In an interview with Moviestar, Suarez said "It would be a boost to win at the Bernabeu. However, there are other challengers. Valencia and Atletico Madrid are both pushing us."

How Batshuayi Can Break Into First Team - Conte

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte has reportedly told out-of-favoured forward, Michy Batshuayi that he must prove that he is better than Eden Hazard or Alvaro Morata in order to command a place in the first team. On Wednesday, Batshuayi would make his sixth start in all competitions this season when Chelsea take on Bournemouth in the League Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bridge.

Super Eagles and Chelsea star Victor Moses has been surprisingly left out of the final three-man shortlist for the CAF African Player of the Year award as Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon made the final cut.

The final shortlist, selected from an initial list of 30, was unveiled on Monday at the Movenpick Hotel, Accra, Ghana.

Salah beat Moses, Mane and Aubameyang to the BBC version of the award.

Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger says he is confident that Mesut Ozil who has just over six months left on his current contract, would sign a new contract and remain in the club without further persuasion.  Wenger stated this in an exclusive chat with Sky Sports.  According to him
