Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has congratulated his former club Manchester City for winning this season’s Premier League title.

City were confirmed league champions after relegation-bound West Bromwich Albion stunned Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday.

FIFA, NFF Celebrate Finidi At 47

The Federation of International Football (FIFA) and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have congratulated former Nigeria international, Finidi George, who turned 47 Sunday.

Both football governing bodies congratulated George via their respective verified Twitter handles.

FIFA who also sent birthday wishes to other footballers tweeted: “Happy birthday to Steven Defour (30), Dudu Cearense (35), Andres D’Alessandro (37) and Finidi George (47).”

FIFA has proposed that a revamped and enlarged version of the Club World Cup, planned to start in 2021, would include all European champions, runners-up and Europa League winners from the four seasons up to and including the year of the event.

The new tournament would be held every four years instead of annually, would feature 31 matches and would need to generate between $650 million and $1 billion in revenue to be commercially viable, according to proposals put forward in a FIFA document seen by Reuters.

Aside from the European teams, there would be four or five from South America, none or one from Oceania and two each from Asia, CONCACAF and Africa.

Jose Mourinho Wants Better Consistency From Paul Pogba

Jose Mourinho has revealed that he needs to see more consistency from Paul Pogba, even if he doesn't expect him to match last week's heroic performance against Manchester City every game.

After spending time on the bench in March, Pogba secured 2 goals in the second half to assist United rally to a 3-2 win and deny City the title for the time being.

Also ahead of Sunday's game against West Brom, Mourinho challenged Pogba to remove the occasional substandard performance from his repertoire.

Chelsea gave their push for a Premier League top four finish a boost as they fought back from 2-0 down to beat struggling Southampton 3-2 at Saint Mary’s on Saturday.
