Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has congratulated his former club Manchester City for winning this season’s Premier League title.

City were confirmed league champions after relegation-bound West Bromwich Albion stunned Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Jay Rodriguez’s 73rd minute header helped City clinch this season’s title since 2014 with five games to go.

In his reaction, Iheanacho who left Manchester City for Leicester City in August 2017, wrote on his verified Twitter handle: “Congratulations to Manchester City, Premier League champions. Manchester is blue.”

Iheanacho joined Manchester City’s youth team in 2014 and graduated to the first team in 2015. He made 46 appearances scoring 12 goals.

He was an unused substitute when City defeated Liverpool on penalties to lift the 2016 League Cup.
