PDP, FCT Residents Welcome Buhari

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has joined Abuja residents to salute and welcome President Muhammadu Buhari from his over three months medical vacation to London. A message of the party issued by the Mr Dayo Adeyeye, National Publicity Secretary, PDP National Caretaker Committee on Saturday in Abuja, said the party believed that Buhari is healthier now to assume his responsibility at the helm of the Country’s affairs.

“We thank the Almighty for saving his life.

” We pray that God grants him better health and understanding on how to rescue our poor economy and relieve Nigerians from the current hardship.”

The President departed Nigeria on May 7 and returned on Aug. 19.

Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) also celebrated the return of President Buhari.

A cross section of FCT residents who spoke to NAN expressed joy at the arrival of the president and thanked God for granting him quick recovery.

Alhaji Sanusi Usman, the FCT Keke NAPEP Tax Force Chairman, said it was a thing of joy to witness the return of the president.

“I want to first and foremost thank Almighty Allah for the return of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“An honest and trusted person, very credible; we are very happy; not just I alone, but many of the citizens of Nigeria today are very happy for his return back from England,” he said.

Usman who is also an indigene of Funtua, Katsina State, noted that the president had brought a lot of progress to Nigeria and the citizens, adding that his coming would ensure that he consolidates on all his achievements.

“We know who Buhari is and we can vouch for his integrity, character, and credibility.

“He is a man who has no religious, tribal or ethnic sentiments, but rather sees all Nigerian citizens as one indivisible entity,” he said.

Mr. Saheed Kuti, the Special Assistant to the National Coordinator, Muhammadu Buhari Osinbajo Dynamic Support Group, said the return of the president was the beginning of a new dawn for the country.

“This indeed is going to be the beginning of greater things to come in the history of our beloved country.

“The president has come to continue from where he stopped,’’ he said.

Mr. Lateef Olawumi, also a Zonal Coordinator of the group said, “I am the happiest person on earth today because my president has just arrived.

“His coming back means a lot to the country. It signifies that Nigeria will continue to move forward.

“We are still very hopeful that the president will continue with the good work of reshaping and repositioning the economy of the country.

“From the turnout today, it is very clear that Nigerians really love this man,” he said.
