The Presidency has warned Nigerians to be wary of the recent apology by the Peoples Democratic Party, as the move could be borne out of desperation to return to power. The Presidency in a statement issued on Friday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu described the apology as 'less-than-honest apology stressing that the party had huge moral duties going by the apology if it must be taken seriously.

The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki has admonished Christians to emulate Jesus Christ and strive to live according to His teachings. Dr. Saraki made the call in Abuja on Thursday in his Easter message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusph Olaniyonu. He admonished Nigerians to continue to work for the sustenance of peace and unity of the country.

The police on Wednesday declared Dino Melaye, a senator from Kogi State, wanted. The lawmaker was declared wanted alongside Mohammed Audu, son of a former governor of the state, Abubakar Audu. Police said the duo have also been placed on Interpol watchlist for allegedly providing false information to the police in relation to an alleged attempt on Mr. Melaye’s life last year.

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja on Wednesday ordered the senator representing Abia South in the Senate, Enyinnaya Abaribe, and two others to produce the missing leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, in court on June 26. Kanu, who has pending charges of treasonable felony against him before the court, has not been seen since September 22, 2017.

The National Assembly on Tuesday said it has extended implementation of the 2017 budget till May 3, following delay in passage of the 2018 budget. Chairman of the House committee on Appropriation, Mustapha Bala Dawaki stated this during a public hearing on the 2018 budget organised by the National Assembly joint committee on appropriation.
