The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC0 Commandant, Nasarawa state Command, Lawan Bashir-Kano says the recently arrested fake doctor arrested for allegedly infecting a six-year-old boy with Human Immuno Virus (HIV) through transfusion of unscreened blood has tested positive to the virus.


Bashir-Kano who made the disclosure yesterday in a chat with newsmen in Lafia hinted that the fake doctor identified as Jonathan Ibrahim and his wife tested positive to HIV. He added that following the conclusion of investigation, the state government through the Attorney General of the state had since commenced prosecution of the suspect.


“As we speak, the suspect has already been remanded at the Lafia prison following his arraignment at the Upper Area Court in Doma on Tuesday, August 1"


The Commandant said the suspect was arrested following a complaint from members of the public including the family of the victim. He disclosed that the suspect operated an illegal clinic at Iwashi Village in Doma Local Government Area of the state.


Meanwhile, the suspect has confessed to running an illegal clinic and transfused unscreened blood to the victim and three others in 2016.
