Jumia Set To Be Listed on New York Stock Exchange

In a bid to go public, popular Nigerian online store, Jumia,  has filed an IPO, making it a step towards being listed in the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Though the New York filing did not reveal details of the price of the shares and how many shares would be sold.

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) in collaboration with the Efficiency Unit of the Federal Ministry of Finance has introduced a 'Price Checker' portal to integrate and monitor prices of commodities to ensure transparency in the public procurement process.

Nigerian Stock Market Appreciated By 3.8% To Close At N11.83tr

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) All-Share Index (ASI) rose from 30,557.20 to close at 31,721.76 while market capitalization gained N434 billion, rising from N11.395 trillion to N11.829 trillion at the end of February which is a 3.8 percent increment compared with a decline in January.

President Muhammadu Buhari is set to re-inaugurate the revived Aluminum Smelting Company of Nigeria (ALSCON), in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State. According to NAN, the re-inauguration will enable the company to commence production after being moribund for over a decade.

NEPC Trains Dried Beans Farmers On Export Guidelines

The Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) on Tuesday 12th, February 2019 disclosed that it has trained "dried beans farmers" and its merchants in the North East geo-political zone on export guidelines.

Food crisis has rocked the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp located in Negatavah Government Primary and Secondary School in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital. According to Sunday Punch, IDPs living in the camps currently go from house to house to beg for food. The report said children looked malnourished as some mothers have resorted to menial jobs and begging to get food.
