The Nigeria Bureau of Statistics on Friday said a total of 557,083,712 electronic-payment transactions valued at N34.02 trillion were recorded in selected banks across the country in the first quarter, 2019. The NBS made the disclosure in a report on Selected Banking Sector Data: Sectorial Breakdown of Credit, ePayment Channels and Staff Strength data posted on its website.

FG Makes N393.7bn from VAT

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that it made about N393.799 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT) in four months of 2019. A breakdown of the VAT pool account showed that N100.759 billion was realized by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in January while the sum of N104.468 billion was posted as VAT revenue for February.
