Sprinter, Tobi Amusan has set a new African women’s indoor record in 60 metres after running 7.75 seconds at the New Balance Indoor Gand Prix in Boston. This performance in Boston replaces the previous record of 7.77 seconds set in Kazakhstan at the Astana Indoor Meet in January when she surpassed the record set by compatriot Gloria Alozie 7.82 seconds set in 1999.

Despite the new record set, she came second in Boston, with America’s Tia Jones finishing first in 7.72 seconds and Bahama’s Devynne Chalton finishing third with a time of 7.76 seconds.
