The Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Abdul Kafarati, has announced the immediate redeployment of 10 judges to different divisions across the country. This is a renewed effort to effectively boost the criminal justice system in a corrupt-free environment. According to the Justice Kafarati, the affected judges are expected to resume work by October 23, 2017.

The spokesperson for Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Ndu Ughamadu, has debunk claims that the agency has colluded with some financial institutions to keep some funds from being remitted into the TSA as directed by the Federal Government. In a statement Ughamadu, its Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, described the allegation as not only “misplaced but equally misleading”.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said he was amazed that there had not been enough outrage from the civil society in the fight against corruption in Nigeria. Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo stated this at a Situation Room Dialogue Session with civil society organizations held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant against the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, for refusing to appear before it.

Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has withdrawn from the trial of eight Boko Haram suspects standing trial before his court. The judge announced his withdrawal at the resumed trial of the suspects on Tuesday at the court in the Federal Capital Territory.
