The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, has filed a suit against the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, and the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges. This comes amid allegations of corruption in the Nigeria Police Force made by the lawmaker representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, Senator Isa Misau.

The House of Representatives has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Minister of Labour and Employment to commence the process of negotiating an upward review of the current minimum wage.

The vice president clarified that he gave approval to the joint venture financing loans in accordance with laid down procedure, but he did not approve contracts.

Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto state governor, dismissed claims that the North was opposed to restructuring, he said the north will accept restructuring if no state gets a disproportionate share of resources. Speaking at a conference in Kaduna on Tuesday, organised by the Arewa Research and Development Project, themed “The North and Future of the Nigerian Federation,” Tambuwal said the north was not opposed to restructuring.
