The Presidency has released major achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari with the appealed to former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Ghali Na’Abba, to be less critical of the administration.

Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, made the appeal eto Na’Abba in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.

The presidential aide, who was reacting to Na’Abba’s media interview on President Buhari, said the appeal had become imperative to change his (Na’Abba) negative opinions as published by a media.

Na’Abba had during an interview with a TV presenter, Osasu Igbinedion, vowed not to support Buhari in his bid to be re-elected in the forthcoming presidential election slated for Feb. 2019.

Although the Presidency on Sunday said President Muhammadu Buhari was yet to make up his mind about seeking re-election in 2019, the South-East chapter of the All Progressives Congress has appointed the Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha as the leader of Buhari's re-election campaign. The Chief Press Secretary to the Imo state governor, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo stated this on Monday in a statement released to newsmen in Owerri.

Nigeria’s Muslims’ umbrella body, the Jamatul Nasir Islam (JNI), on Sunday, warned notable Christian leaders in the country to stop provocatives utterances against Muslims over recent herdsmen killings and not take their silence for ‘foolishness’.

Secretary-General of the group, Dr. Khalid Abubakar, while addressing a press conference in Kaduna, also accused parallel umbrella body representing Nigeria’s Christians, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), of deliberately and unnecessarily heating up the polity ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Among Christians leaders specifically mentioned in the address were Bishop of Living Faith Church, David Oyedepo, Apostle Johnson Suleiman of Omega Fire Ministries, Prophet Isa El-Buba of Evangelical Bible Outreach Ministry International and the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday met a delegation of South-East All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa Abuja. The meeting came barely few hours after the group had held an emergency meeting at the Imo State Government lodge Abuja, where it appointed the state governor, Rochas Okorocha the leader of President Muhammadu Buhari re-election campaign in the region.

President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration remains resolute and focused on delivering on the three-pronged promises of securing the lives and properties of Nigerians, halting the pillage of the economy by corrupt public officials, and creating employment opportunities for the youths.

The Kaduna State government has asked sacked teachers to reapply for job in the ongoing recruitment of 25,000 new qualified teachers for public primary schools in the state.

Commissioner of Education in the state, Mr Jafaru Sani, announced this on Sunday during a press conference at his office in Kaduna.

This followed the sacking of more than 21,000 unqualified teachers by the state government after they failed a controversial competency test conducted by the government in June 2017.

Mr Sani said government has received at least 43,000 applications from prospective teachers in public schools in the state to fill up 25,000 vacancies.

He also asked any of the sacked teachers that feels qualified and interested in the teaching profession to reapply for a job in the ongoing recruitment of 25,000 new qualified teachers for public primary schools in the state.
