The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the recall process of the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye on Saturday.

This follows the Appeal Court ruling which gave INEC the go-ahead to carry out the exercise.

INEC on Wednesday announced the commencement of verification exercise of voters in his constituency.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointments of Ambassador Apollonius Demenongu Agev and Kio Solomon Benibo Amieyeofori as Deputy Directors-General (DDGs) at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). Details of the new appointees were not provided beyond the explanation that Mr. Agev is from Benue State in the North-Central geopolitical zone while Mr. Amieyeofori is from Rivers State in the South-South geopolitical zone.

The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps, Brig. Gen. Zakari Kazaure has warned serving corps members against indiscriminate applications for relocation, particularly to their home states. The DG NYSC stated this on Tuesday during an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse.

The Senate on Wednesday, adjourned its plenary in solidarity with a member of the upper house, Sen. Dino Melaye who was arrested and humiliated by men of the Nigeria Police Force.

The decision of the Senate followed a motion moved by Sen. Sam Anyanwu over the arrest of Melaye.

However, the prayer that the Senate adjourn was moved by Senator Mao Ohuabunwa who insisted that there was no need for the Senate to sit and debate when the health condition of a senator was unknown.

Okonjo-Iweala had revealed in the book that Duke asked her not to serve in President Goodluck Jonathan’s government in 2011, so as to deny the administration the credibility it desired.

Nothing Like Coalition Group In Imo APC – Okorocha

Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has described as faceless those claiming to be a Coalition group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The Imo governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, described those claiming to be ‘Coalition of Imo APC’ as “food is ready politicians” insisting that there is only one party in the state with him as the leader.

Okorocha who was reacting to a recent publication by a group known as the Coalition of Imo APC, which gave the governor a 21-day ultimatum to reverse his support for his Chief of Staff, Chief Uche Nwosu for governor in 2019, noted that none of the Coalition members won his booth in the last elections.
