Husband to Regina Daniel, a popular Nollywood actress, Ned Nwoko has been denied accreditation by the management of the National Assembly barely a day to the inauguration and election of the leadership of the 9th Assembly.
Vigil360 gathered that ahead of the inauguration billed to take place on Tuesday, senators-elect and House of Representatives-elect have begun the documentation and registration process. The prospective lawmakers were seen are the premises of the National Assembly trying to complete the registration and image capturing processes.
An attempt by former House of Representative member, Hon. Nwoko to be registered as senator-elect failed as the Clerk of the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani-Omolori told him that he will not be accredited because of unsettled electoral dispute in his Delta North Senatorial District.
Vanguard recalls that Nwoko is currently entangled in a legal battle with a ranking Senator and a member of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Nwaoboshi over the rightful candidate of the party in the last General Election.
Court of Appeal had last month ruled in favour of Nwaoboshi nullifying Nwoko’s victory at the Federal High Court and asking the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to recognize and issue him (Nwaoboshi) Certificate of Return.
