2023: JAMB Announces Dates For UTME, Other Activities

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it would begin registration for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) from January 14 to February 14, 2023, while the 2023 UTME is scheduled to commence on April 29 and is expected to end on May 12, 2023. This was made known on Tuesday in a statement issued by JAMB’s Head of Media and Information, Mr. Fabian Benjamin, which stated that the dates were decided during the Board’s management meeting on Tuesday.

NECO Expresses Zero Tolerance Towards Exam Malpractice

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has expressed its zero tolerance towards examination malpractice and its determination to combat any form of it in all of its examinations. This was made known on Monday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State by the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), NECO, Prof. Ibrahim Wushishi during a one-day sensitization workshop on examination malpractice with the theme, ‘The Role of Education Stakeholders in Tackling Examination Malpractice in Nigeria’.

JAMB Commences Automation Of Admission Process

In a bid to enhance the admission process at tertiary institutions, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the automation of the admission process by training selected staff from tertiary institutions across the 6 geo-political zones on the Interactive e-Brochure and e-Syllabus System (IBASS) platform. The training programme was launched on Monday via video conference by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, who stated that from January 2023 the Board would no longer receive any physical letter from any institution except through IBASS.

NUC Introduces B.Sc CyberSecurity, Other Into University Curriculum

The Federal Government through the National University Commission (NUC) has approved the introduction of B.Sc Cyber Security, Data Science Information system, Info-Tech, Computer science, and Software Engineering into the Nigerian university curriculum.
The NUC made this known today in Abuja through a statement made available to newsmen. Recall in the year 2021, the NUC inaugurated a committee of experts drawn from various disciplines and across Nigerian universities to develop a new curriculum that will address the knowledge gap that will fit into the minimum required academic standard for the contemporary courses of study.
