VP Osinbajo To Deliver Lecture On Climate Change In U.S. Varsity

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will on Sunday depart Nigeria for the United States of America where he is scheduled to deliver a Special Lecture at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) in Philadelphia. UPenn, which is one of the eight private universities known as the Ivy League in the United States, was initially established in 1740 as a charity school. In a statement issued by media aide to the Vice President, Laolu Akande, the Vice President’s lecture, to be delivered on Monday with the theme “Climate Change and a Just Transition”, is to be hosted by the University’s Center for Africana Studies.
Apart from the lecture, the Vice President will also participate in an interactive session with students and faculty coordinated by Presidential Penn Compact Professor of Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, Wale Adebanwi.

2023 UTME: JAMB Fixes New Date

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed a new date for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) which was made known in a statement issued on Sunday by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol. The statement disclosed that the 2023 UTME would commence on April 25 and end on May 2 while its rescheduled mock would hold on April 18, 2023.

Buhari Signs Copyright Act, Medical Schools Bills Into Law

The President, Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Copyright and the Federal College and Medical Laboratory and Technology bills into law, the two bills were recently passed by the National Assembly to help protect the right of authors and strengthen the medical laboratory institute. This was revealed by the Senior Special Assistant to the president on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives), Nasiru Baballe Ila on 23rd March 2023.

2023 UTME: JAMB Conducts Mock, Apologizes For Hitches

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) conducted this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mock on Thursday in 725 centers nationwide. The Board also apologized for any hitches experienced by candidates during the examination. This was disclosed in a statement by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol.

JAMB Resumes Direct Entry Registration

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has resumed the suspended 2023 Direct Entry registration exercise. More so, the Board has released a new guideline for DE registration to avoid the use of fake A level certificate to be admitted into universities. The Board Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede made this public on 20th March 2023 in a conference in the nation's capital, noting that the exercise will be closed on 28th April 2023.
“You will recall that the board commenced the 2023 direct entry registration on Monday, 20th February 2023, but had to immediately suspend it following the discovery of the plethora of devices and machinations to circumvent and compromise the standard of A ‘level qualifications required from DE candidates,” he said.
