2020 Budget: Reps Okay’s It For Second Reading

President Muhammadu Buhari has in the last two days presented the year 2020 budget of N10.3trn to the joint session of the National Assembly. Accordingly, two days after a lengthy debate on the said budget, the House of Representatives has passed it for second reading.

CBN Fines 12 Banks N499b For Loan Policy Breach

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has fined 12 commercial banks N299.1 billion for breaching its lending guidelines, The Nation reports. In a CBN circular directed that all banks to maintain the Loan Deposit Ration (LDR) to a minimum of 60 percent by September 30, 2019. This was in a bid to sustain economic growth through investment in the real sector.
