FG Promises To Raise Salaries Of Paramilitary Agencies

The Federal Government has reassured personnel of the paramilitary agencies of the commitment of the current administration to undertake an upward review of their salaries as well as implement other welfare pages for the officers. Minister of Interior, Honourable Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, gave the assurance on Thursday in Abuja during the launch of a new uniform for officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Nigeria Now First Consideration For Foreign Investment - Wale Edun 

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, who was just recently appointed the Chairman of the African Governors’ Forum of the World Bank yesterday, said Nigeria has now become the first consideration for foreign investment following the positive response to the reform measures introduced by the Federal Government. The Minister disclosed this while briefing the press on highlights of Nigeria’s participation in the just concluded Annual Meetings of the World Bank/International Monetary Fund, IMF, in Marrakesh, Morocco. The World Bank appointed Mr Edun as the Chairman of the African Governors’ Forum. According to a statement on the Ministry of Finance’s X page, the ministry noted that Edun’s appointment makes it the first of such for Nigeria.

President Tinubu To Launch Birth, Death Registration Portal

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Wednesday, 8th November 2023, launch the electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System (CRVS) and the Geospatial Data Repository. CRVS as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) is a system that registers all births and deaths, issues birth and death certificates, and compiles and disseminates vital statistics, including cause of death information. It also records marriages and divorces. This was made known by the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Nasir Kwarra, at a pre-launch briefing on Monday, November 6, 2023, in Abuja.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mrs Delu Yakubu as the pioneer National Coordinator/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA), pending confirmation by the Senate. This was made known on Thursday in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, adding that it is in line with NSIPA Establishment Act, 2023.
