World heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder was on Thursday ordered to perform 60 hours of community service after being found guilty of marijuana possession. According to Dailymail, the 32-year-old American, who last fought in November when he beat Haitian-Canadian Bermane Stiverne with a first-round knockout to retain his WBC heavyweight title, was arrested in Alabama last June. Wilder, who received a 30-day suspended sentence and two years of probation, was ordered to perform the community service at a local YMCA.

British boxer Tyson Fury has reportedly applied to the British Boxing Board of Control for the release of his boxing license ahead of a sensational return to the world of boxing after a lengthy ban. According to Dailymail, the former heavyweight champion, who has not fought since dethroning Wladimir Klitschko back in November 2015, announced on Twitter on Wednesday that he would seek to regain the licence he lost amid self-confessed problems with drugs and depression.

Anthony Joshua's proposed unification bout with Joseph Parker may be finalized on Wednesday as David Higgins, the promoter of the New Zealander has already flown to London to conclude negotiations. Speaking with Sky sources, Eddie Hearn disclosed that he had held lengthy talks with Higgins about the purse split for the heavyweight fight, with Parker believed to have accepted 'between 30 and 35 per cent', although they are yet to formally agree a venue or date.

Contrary to reports that a deal may have been agreed between the camps of Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker for a reunification bout to be held sometime in March, 2017, Promoter Eddie Hearn says the deal is yet to be finalized. Hearn who spoke to Sky Sports expressed optimism that a deal would be agreed soon.

Amir Khan has perfected plans to announce his return to the boxing ring in 2018 on Wednesday according to Sky Sports. The 31-year-old, who has not fought since losing to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in May 2016, will be making a major announcement at the Dorchester Hotel, Mayfair, London.
