A record breaking 70,000 tickets have been sold for the World heavyweight showdown between Anthony Joshua and mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev on Oct. 28 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Fans snapped approximately 70, 000 tickets that went on sale Monday according to Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.

British Professional Boxer, David Haye said he wants to face reigning World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua in 2018 in the "biggest fight ever on the UK soil." Haye who is recovering from an achille injury that contributed to his defeat to Tony Bellew in March 2017 hinted that negotiations were still ongoing for a rematch in December. He enthused that if Bellwe was knocked out by December, the next target would be Joshua. He said the fight would be the biggest in UK history.

Mixed martial artist and professional boxer Conor McGregor will be unable to go back to the ‘ring’ for at least 60 days as the Nevada State Athletic Commission has issued a two-month medical suspension to him after his TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring last weekend, according to the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

40-year-old American boxer, Floyd Mayweather has announced his retirement from the sport after stopping Irish Conor McGregor in the 10th round of a widely publicized Las Vegas fight. According to him "This is my last fight ladies and gentlemen, my last fight. Tonight was my last fight for sure. I chose the right dance partner to dance with. Conor McGregor, you're a hell of a champion and to the country of Ireland, we love you guys."

Manny Pacquiao's rematch with Australian Jeff Horn has been confirmed for Brisbane later this year. Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk confirmed the match on Monday. The Mayor had earlier threatened to pull funding without confirmation from the Filipino’s camp but said he had been reassured at a meeting with promoters on Monday.
