Nigeria’s women basketball team, D’Tigress booked their spot in the quarter-finals with a convincing mauling of Egypt 106-72 on Sunday. The team had beaten Mozambique in their opening game on Friday, defeated Congo in the second game on Saturday before yesterday’s whitewash of Egypt. The win took the D’Tigresses to the quarterfinals of the competition and closer to a third Afrobasket title, as well as a World Cup ticket.

Meanwhile, despite the winning streak, the Vincent Sam coached side insists they are staying focused and will not underrate any opponent as they continue their quest to win the competition for the first time since 2005.

The team will observe today as a rest day before facing Guinea tomorrow in their fourth group game.
