Kano: Abba Yusuf Names Ganduje, Kwankwaso As Council Members

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has appointed predecessors, Abdullahi Ganduje (APC) and Rabiu Kwankwaso (NNPP) as members of Kano State Elders Council. Yusuf during a presser added that aside from the two former governors, other members of the council include deputy governors, senate presidents, and speakers of both the national and state assemblies who are indigenes of the state.

The Kano state governor who announced the creation of the state Elders Couecnil on Saturday 14th of January 2024, disclosed that the council would serve as an advisory body to the state.

Yusuf also added that aside from elected public office holders, elders and leaders such as retired supreme and appeal court justices, former chief judges of the state, secretaries to the state governments, former heads of Kano state civil service as well as traditional and religious leaders in the state are also members of the council.

The governor who created the council barely 24 hours after the Supreme Court affirmed him as the duly elected governor of the state, disclosed that the inauguration date of the council would be announced soon.
